History:

Bethel Family Clinic was incorporated in 1979 and opened its doors in 1981.  The Clinic serves the Bethel/Wade Hampton area of southwest Alaska, an area approximately the size of Oregon with a population of 23,357.  The City of Bethel has a population of 6262.  In 2001, the Clinic became a Community Health Center Clinic.

In 2006, the Clinic had over 3700 visits.  Of these patients,  over 250 are uninsured and over 100 are below the poverty level.  Many of our patients are residents of public housing.  Slightly over one third of our patients are Alaska Natives.
